Salvation Army switches to ‘Virtual Kettle’ ahead of snowstorm

WARSAW — The Salvation Army of Kosciusko County is switching gears ahead of a snowstorm expected to arrive in the area Thursday night.

In anticipation of the massive winter storm, the agency is moving to a “Virtual Kettle” to close out its 101st annual bell-ringing campaign.

A QR Code has been set up to direct those who would like to donate to a site for giving.

“We want people to be safe, including our Bell Ringers, so we are going to this Virtual Kettle for giving,” said Envoy Ken Locke.

Readers can find the QR Code below or can go to the group’s Facebook page.

Giving has been a “little down” this season as well as volunteers even as requests for services are increasing, Locke said.

“We appreciate those who support us to help others not only at Christmas but throughout the year,” Locke said.
