Warsaw is getting set for a big event this coming weekend.
The USA Water Ski Division I Show Ski Nationals are being held Friday through Sunday at Hidden Lake on the city’s north side and is being hosted by the Lake City Skiers.
Thousands of spectators are expected to attend this weekend with 14 teams and over 1,500 skiers participating in the event from all over the nation.
Kevin Hayes of the National Show Ski Association says the bid for Warsaw was put in a couple years ago and Warsaw was chosen hands down. Individual competition begins on Friday at 10 AM and team competition begins on Saturday and Sunday at 7 AM. The event is free to attend, but there is a $5 parking fee. Officials say bleacher seating is available.
NOTE: A correction to our original article. Event officials with the Lake City Skiers say there should be plenty of bleacher seating and are asking that those attending to NOT bring their own chairs.
