Silver Lake home suffers $50K worth of damages after three-alarm fire

A three-alarm house fire in Silver Lake Wednesday morning caused $50,000 in smoke and heat damage.

Silver Lake Fire Department responded  to 100 block of E. Sycamore St. a little before 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Claypool and Henry Township fire departments assisted.

Upon their arrival, firefighters discovered smoke coming from the home. The origin of the fire was the back corner of the house in the bedroom/bathroom area, Silver Lake Fire Department Chief John Conley said.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.

The cause of fire is undetermined at this time.

It took crews almost two hours before clearing the scene.
