Single-day record of COVID tests reported in Sunday’s state update

Sunday saw a big rise in positive coronavirus cases in Indiana, but also saw a new single-day record in reported tests.

The update from the Indiana State Department of Health saw a rise of 927 positive cases, bringing the number of cases in Indiana up to 56,571. Only two additional deaths were reported.

The rolling average of cases continues to rise as Sunday’s update showed the state is averaging 716 cases a day over the last seven days, that’s up from 351 on June 24th.

12,453 new tests were reported, showing that just under 627,000 tests have now been completed. The percentage of positive tests fell to an even nine percent.
