Six injured in weekend car crash

MILFORD – A LaGrange man was arrested after an alleged drunk driving accident Saturday evening that sent he and five other people to a hospital.

Derek Miller, 19 , of 3205 N 425 W, Lagrange, was  driving eastbound on CR 1350N, when he ran a stop a sign at the intersection of Ind. 15N and struck  a vehicle?driven by Caroline Jackson, 34, Mishawaka, according to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.

Jackson was taken to Lutheran hospital in Fort Wayne along with her passengers, Lambreeana Jackson, 17, Mishawaka; Camron Moore, 12, Mishawaka; Javion Moore, 10, Mishawaka and William Moore, 46, Anderson.

All five had non-incapacitating injuries.

Deputy James Smith said that Miller appeared to be intoxicated during the crash investigation.

Miller was briefly hospitalized and later booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing a serious bodily injury and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. Bond was set $5,250.
