Special Olympics Athletes Compete in Bluffton Invitational

Times Union – Special Olympics athletes from Kosciusko County competed in the Bluffton track and field invitational  Saturday against other area programs including Adams-Wells, Allen and Huntington counties and ARC Indiana.
Results of area athletes in their respective divisions are as follows:
Joe Bradley:   50M dash, 2nd place;  standing long jump, 5th place;  softball throw, 5th  place.
Anthony Degaetano:  100M relay, 1st place;  200M dash, 4th place;  running long jump, 1st place.
Antonio Drummond:  Mini javelin throw, 3rd place;  100M dash, 3rd place;  100M relay, 1st place.
Terri Garrad:  50M dash, 4th place;  standing long jump, 4th place;  softball throw, 6th place.
Lori Kiefer:  50M dash, 3rd place;  softball throw, 5th place;  standing long jump, 2nd place.
Mark Maybush:  50M dash, 2nd place;  standing long jump, 2nd place;  softball throw, 1st place.
Christina Messer:  400M walk, 4th place;  softball throw, 4th place.
Shannon Middaugh:  100M wheelchair race, 1st place;  200M wheelchair race, 1st place;  softball throw, 6th place.
Erica Mifflin:  100M dash, 4th place;  100M relay, 1st place;  mini javelin throw, 4th place.
Amy Philson:  100M dash, 2nd place;  100M relay, 1st place;  mini javelin throw, 1st place.
Timothy Warner-Guile:  Softball throw, 2nd place;  50M dash, 1st place;  standing long jump, 2nd place.
Becky Walls, Special Olympics county coordinator, expressed thanks in the announcement from the organization to the coaches and volunteers who helped make the invitational possible.
The Area 5 Sectional Invitational will be the next event, and will be held in Wabash May 14.
