Stumbling Block For Indiana Dunes’ Request For Alcohol License

There's a stumbling block for a request of an alcohol license for Indiana Dunes State Park. The Porter County Alcoholic Beverage Commission voted against the license request on Thursday. That vote serves as a recommendation for the state's Alcohol and Tobacco Commission, who are expected to act on the license request in about two weeks. The County Commission voted 3 to 1 against after a deadlocked vote in June. Indiana Dunes State Park is hoping for the opportunity to serve alcohol at the pavilion on Lake Michigan's southern shoreline. This would coincide with the construction of a banquet center at the site, and the restoration of the existing park pavilion.
