Suicide prevention training at Tippecanoe Valley

The Tippecanoe Valley Community Mental Health Task Force is inviting the public to attend a suicide prevention training.

Superintendent Brett Boggs tells News Now Warsaw’s IN the Know they’ve been working on training staff, students, and now the community.

The training will be conducted by the Bowen Center and will focus on the three steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide– Question, Persuade, and Refer.

The QPR training is part of an overall mission to increase knowledge and provide support at Tippecanoe Valley, while reducing the stigma of mental illness.

The training will take place on Tuesday, September 26, starting at 4:15 p.m. in the Large Group Instruction room at Mentone Elementary located at 301 E. Jackson Street in Mentone. There is no charge to attend. The training will last until approximately 5:30 p.m.
