Despite fall getting underway this week, summer-like heat is expected to continue at least for another week.

The Climate Prediction Center says there is a greater than 80 percent chance for above normal temperatures to begin October. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid to upper 80s and could even flirt with 90 one of the days. Humidity will also be a factor with the heat.

Along with the heat, there is a greater than 40 percent chance for above normal precipitation in the next six to ten days. Long range models forecast a swath of at least half an inch of rain across northern Indiana.
