WARSAW -- Warsaw Community Schools has selected Tracy Horrell as its new assistant superintendent of secondary education.

Horrell will be returning to Warsaw Community Schools after serving as Principal of Western Middle School, Russiaville, Indiana.

He replaces Dr. David Robertson, who announced his departure on Dec. 2.

Horrell graduated from Anderson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education and Health. He went on to earn his Master's degree from Indiana Purdue University, Fort Wayne, in Administrative Leadership. In 2020, Horrell completed an Educational Specialist degree in District Leadership from Indiana State University, Terra Haute.

Horrell began his teaching career at Edgewood Middle School, Warsaw, Indiana in 1998. He served as Assistant Principal at Edgewood from 2007 to 2015.

Horrell noted, “I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to serve as the next Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education for Warsaw Community Schools. I look forward to building on the great work that has been done. I will work with and for the Warsaw community to advance the mission ‘to inspire and equip all students to continuously acquire and apply knowledge and skills while pursuing their dreams and enriching the lives of others.’"

Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert added, "We are excited to welcome Tracy and his family back to Warsaw Community Schools. His qualifications, previous experience within Warsaw Schools, experience with school safety, and leadership qualities made him an outstanding candidate. Our team looks forward to working with Tracy Horrell again."

He and his wife, Kristen, truly are a perfect match. In 2018, Kristen donated her kidney to Tracy who was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney disease, a genetic disorder. With a newfound lease on life, Tracy competed virtually in the Transplant Games in 2020 and in person in San Diego in 2022.

The couple has fostered or provided respite to over 13 children and adopted four children: Jay (5th grade), Bennett (2nd grade), Marley (Kindergarten), and Nora (Preschool). Horrell has been active in his local church, Bridgeway Church, where he serves as an Elder and coaches youth soccer and basketball.
