WARSAW — Another round of extreme weather will pass through Northern Indiana today and Monday with temperatures ranging from 70 today in Warsaw to the upper teens by Monday night, the National Weather Service predicts.

Strong winds will return on Sunday with gusts approaching 50 mph.

That will be followed by a line of storms tonight that could bring additional damaging wind gusts. 

Lake effect snow will then ramp up on Monday morning with 1-2 two inches of snow expected in Warsaw, the weather service said.

Winds on Monday are expected to cause blowing and drifting with very low visibility.

Higher accumulations are predicted to be higher northwest of Kosciusko County.

Sunday’s high will be near 70 and the overnight low will fall to 27.

A wind advisory is in effect for Kosciusko County beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday, and a high wind warning is in effect for areas west of Kosciusko County.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for Monday morning for areas north of Kosciusko County.

Monday’s high will be 32 and the low will be 17

Warsaw — The final Sunday of 2025 will bring with it some wild fluctuations in the local weather.

The National Weather Service predicts temperatures will rise to 63 degrees on Sunday in Warsaw before plummeting overnight to 18

Mild temps will peak late this afternoon, and rain is possible for much of the day and will continue into the night.

A few thunderstorms are possible, and then winds will pick up Sunday night and continue into Monday. A wind advisory (stretching across much of northern Indiana) is in effect from 8 p.m. Sunday to 7 p.m. Monday, the weather service said.

Expect winds of 20-30 mph and gusts of nearly 50 mph.

There's an 80 percent chance of snow on Monday. The high will be around 27, and the low will dip to 18.

NORTH WEBSTER — The northern half of Kosciusko County will continue under a winter storm warning on Sunday after Saturday’s snowstorm blanketed much of the Midwest and Great Lakes.

Saturday’s storm dumped eight inches of snow north of North Webster at the National Weather Service office, and similar amounts were reported across Kosciusko County, leaving treacherous road conditions for holiday travelers.

Fort Wayne received 5.7 inches of snow while South Bend saw nine inches of snowfall.

Windy conditions will continue Sunday, and another one to five inches are predicted across the area, with much of that expected to affect areas north of Warsaw, the weather service said.

Regionally, lake-effect snow will develop this morning and continue throughout the day, causing travel impacts to persist, the weather service said.

Wind gusts of 30 to 35 mph are expected for the remainder of the day.

The storm warning remains in effect for southwest Lower Michigan and northern Indiana through 7 p.m. 

Temperatures will fall into the upper 20s this morning and could lead to some re-freezing of melted snow on roadways. Patchy drifting snow is also possible. Some roads are also likely snow covered from the heavy snowfall yesterday.

Motorists should be alert for slick road conditions, the weather service said.

Police reported a large number of accidents and slide-offs, but no fatal crashes were reported as of early Sunday morning.

Some businesses closed early Saturday, and some Sunday church services were announced overnight.
