WARSAW - Candidate filing got off to a quick start Wednesday in Warsaw.

Six Republican incumbents in Warsaw city government arrived at the Kosciusko County Justice Building as a group to file their intentions for re-election shortly after the filing period began at 8 a.m.

Those include Clerk-Treasurer Lynne Christiansen and city council members Cindy Dobbins, Michael Klondaris, Josh Finch, Jerry Frush and Diane Quance.

The first candidate to file election paperwork Wednesday was Lori Renier, clerk-treasurer for Winona Lake. Renier was appointed by a Republican caucus nearly 12 months ago after the death of Kent Adams.

The filing period for Warsaw, Winona Lake and Syracuse continues until Feb. 3.

Filing deadline for eight other smaller towns -- Claypool, Etna Green, Leesburg, Mentone, North Webster, Pierceton, Sidney and Silver Lake -- continues until Aug. 1.
