Text Messages May Be Key To Prosecutor’s Case In Patel Trial

Prosecutors are using text messages sent by a Granger woman to prove wrong-doing in her feticide and neglect trial.

Monday marked Day One of testimony in the Purvi Patel trial.

She's accused of giving birth to a baby, then dumping the baby's body in a dumpster behind Moe's Southwest in July of 2013.

One of the text messages a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney presented on Monday described how badly some pills Patel had allegedly taken to force an abortion had tasted and if they didn't work, she'd be mad. The trial is expected to last all week.
