The Beaman Home Board of Directors appointed Renea Salyer as executive director, it was announced Friday in a news release.
Salyer will be responsible for the overall strategic and operational responsibility for The Beaman Home’s staff, volunteers, programs, expansion and execution of its mission. She begins her employment with The Beaman Home on June 1.
Salyer brings experience in nonprofit administration, management, fundraising, marketing, grant writing and public relations. Her strengths are relationship building, promotion and strategy execution. She has served on various Kosciusko County boards and is a 2012-13 Kosciusko Leadership Academy graduate.
Most recently, she worked for the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce as executive director. During her tenure, she surpassed membership and financial goals, diligently promoted businesses, achieved marketing awards, developed employees and started the SWCC Foundation Inc., according to the news release.
Salyer previously worked as the project coordinator for Kosciusko Cares Youth Services, building evidence-based program reach geared toward the prevention of substance use among youth, writing grants, special projects and coalition building.
Salyer is currently finishing an organizational leadership certificate course at Indiana Tech.
She stated, “I am extremely excited and grateful to have this opportunity to serve the community utilizing my skills and experience to further the mission of The Beaman Home in providing shelter, education, and confidential services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.”
Salyer resides in Warsaw with her husband, Jeff. She enjoys spending time with her family, boating, biking, gardening and crafting.
