MENTONE — It’s time to get “Eggs-cited” for the 2025 Mentone Egg Festival.
This year’s theme is “100 Years of Egg-cellence,” in celebration of Creighton Brother’s 100-year anniversary.
Activities begin Thursday at 5 p.m. with flea markets, crafts, food vendors and the kids area uptown Mentone.
At 7:30 p.m., The Bulldogs, formerly Spike and the Bulldogs, perform at the fire station in memory of Russell and Leona Eber.
Friday events kick off with Bell burgers and more by the Bell Museum from 11 a.m. to close at the fire station.
Noon to 9 p.m. uptown are flea markets, crafts and food vendors. From 2 p.m. to dark in the uptown area, there will be the inflatables and games.
One of the most popular events during the Egg Festival is the annual car, truck and motorcycle show, along with the Echoes of the Past tractor show. It starts at 4 p.m. at Tucker Street and downtown Mentone.
Concluding Friday’s activities from 6 to 9 p.m. will be 1950s and ’60s music and a silent auction uptown, while the Showford Brothers will perform on East Main Street at The Barricade.
Get a good, early start Saturday with a pancake breakfast from 6 to 10 a.m. at the fire station by the Tippecanoe Valley Football Team. They’re sure to have plenty of eggs for your plate.
Registration for the Egg City 5K Run is at the fire station from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m., with the run beginning at 8 a.m.
The Backyard BBQ Cookoff is at 9 a.m. at the front of Hartzler Funeral Home.
Inflatables and games, along with flea markets, crafts, and food stands, will be uptown beginning at 9 a.m.
Judging for the parade entries begins at 10 a.m. at the parade lineup site. The parade then proceeds downtown at 11 a.m. The parade grand marshal is the 100th birthday of Creighton Brothers.
On stage at 12:30 p.m. is the Miss Chick and Mr. Rooster Contest, followed by kids’ games at 1 p.m.
The garden tractor pull is at 1 p.m. in the park, while the kiddie tractor pull is at 1:30 p.m. at the stage.
The egg toss follows at the stage at 2:30 p.m.
Beginning at 3 p.m., all scheduled activities will be at the fire station, beginning with the Mentone United Methodist Church gospel singing.
Awards for the Backyard BBQ Cookoff are at 4:30 p.m., cake walk is at 6 p.m., and the winners of the cute baby contest are announced at 6:30 p.m.
The crowning of Miss Mentone will take place at 7 p.m. There are four contestants this year.
Music is at 7:15 p.m., followed by the Family Feud game show at 7:30 p.m. to end the 2025 Mentone Egg Festival.
