Three arrested following high speed pursuit on Sunday

Three Michiana residents were arrested after a high-speed pursuit in Whitley and Kosciusko Counties.

The pursuit began early Sunday morning when a trooper tried to stop a car traveling at over 90 mph westbound on U.S. 30, near Columbia City. Investigators say the driver, 37-year-old Devonte Perkins, of Michigan City, failed to stop and tried to evade officers for nearly 30 miles into Kosciusko County, at times with speeds well over 115 mph.

Police tried stop sticks in the Pierceton area, but Perkins was able to travel on and entered the City of Warsaw where the chase came to an end with more stop sticks. Perkins and his passengers, Jahnesha Thompson and Terrell Morrow Jr. of South Bend were arrested on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.
