Three Arrested in Torture and Murder of Columbia City Woman

ELKHART, Ind. — Three men have been arrested for their roles in the torture and murder of 31-year-old Kimberly Dyer of Columbia City.

Police believe the events leading up to Dyer’s death took place between October 21 and 22 at a place on Old Orchard Lane.

The Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office said 20-year-old Donald Owen, Jr., 19-year-old Mario Angulo were both charged with murder and various other felonies. Twenty-four-year-old Matthew Murzynski has also been charged with various felonies like confinement.

Prosecuting Attorney Vicki Elaine Becker also wants a sentencing enhancement of life without parole for Owen and Angulo, said WANE-TV.

Becker said that Dyer was intentionally murdered, and was burned, mutilated and tortured while she was still alive.

If convicted, Owen and Angulo could to 45 years in prison to a maximum of life without parole, and Murzynski could be sentenced to 20 to 92 years in prison.
