Tippecanoe Valley AD placed on leave, faces investigation

AKRON — Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation has put Athletic Director Sam Sturtevant on administrative leave pending an ongoing investigation.

According to a statement from the school district, the school corporation is working closely with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and has requested assistance from the Indiana State Board of Accounts as part of this process.

The school corporation said no further comment will be made until the investigation is complete.

Sturtevant was named Valley’s athletic director by the Tippecanoe Valley School Board in July 2022.

Sturtevant graduated from La Lumiere High School, LaPorte, where he participated in varsity soccer, basketball, golf and track and field, according to a news release provided by the school corporation when Sturtevant was hired.

After high school, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication, minor in recreation and sports studies and a minor in coaching from Butler University in 2019.

He earned a master’s degree in business management from Butler University in June 2022 and since 2020 was serving as the assistant athletic director at Plymouth High School.
