Tuesday is Voter Registration Day in Indiana

Today officials are taking part in National Voter Registration Day, a national effort to register voters to increase voter participation on Election Day. They’re encouraging all Hoosiers who are not registered to vote to register today.

Residents can register to vote at a Secretary of State office, their local city, township or county clerk’s office, military recruitment centers, and other official centers.

“Registering to vote is simple in Indiana,” said Secretary of State Connie Lawson. “You can register from your smart phone, your computer, at one of today’s voter registration drives or several public offices. I encourage all Hoosiers to register today and make their voices heard on Election Day.”

A full list of National Voter Registration Day events taking place in Indiana and across the country is available online at www.NationalVoterRegistrationDay.org.

The registration deadline for the November general election is October 9.
