Two of five Nappanee child abuse suspects say they aren’t guilty

Two of the five suspects involved in a child abuse case in Nappanee say they did not commit the alleged crime.

Jammy Stacy and Rune Springer are both charged with felony child neglect involving Springer’s 3-year-old son, who doctors say had days to live when he was brought in.

Springer tells our reporting partners at WNDU she asked Stacy to babysit her son and that she was unaware of the alleged abuse.

A relative of Stacy’s denies the claims, saying her family was not responsible.

The child is now recovering in foster care.
