Two Teens Drown In Kosciusko County

KCSD Press Release – Kosciusko County officials are currently investigating the drowning death of two Warsaw teenagers.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies and Dive Team members responded today at 1:59 p.m. after receiving a 9-1-1 call of a possible drowning.  Prior to arrival, officers were notified that one drowning victim had been pulled from a private pond at the location of 2028 S. Maple Run, Warsaw. K.C.S.D. Dive Team members arrived shortly and recovered the body of a second victim at the same pond.  Kosciusko County Coroner Michael Wilson identified the victims as that of Korbin Foster and Kaleb Lampkin, both 17-years-of-age and from Warsaw.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Detectives stated that officers responded last evening at

1:41 a.m. to the residence regarding two missing juveniles.  At that time, deputies were advised that there had been a “sleep-over” of teenage boys celebrating the recent birthday of Lampkin at his residence.  One of the teenagers at the party had been acting strangely irregular, at which point, Multi-Township E.M.S. responded to potential drug inducement and transported him to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment.  During that initial investigation, officers searched the neighborhood area, but were later advised that the two missing teenagers, Foster and Lampkin, had possibly left the party and travelled into the city of Warsaw.

Officials advised that the incident is still under investigation at this time.  Also assisting the Kosciusko County Coroner and Sheriff’s Department were members of the Warsaw/Wayne Township Fire Territory and Indiana Conservation Officers from

District 1 Headquarters.
