Hogsett has sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, announcing his resignation from the position he's had since 2010. The letter did not include any reason for the decision. Hogsett says it's been an honor to serve in the office for the last four years saying, “The office set records for the number of defendants charged and the total number of criminal convictions.” Meanwhile, it‘s long been rumored that Hogsett would again run for public office, and reports have indicated that he's planning to seek the Democratic nomination in the Indianapolis Mayoral race.
