Update: 4 Year Old Girl Struck By Car On Winona Ave.

Update: We now know the name of the four year old girl that was hit on Winona Ave. today.  According to police, Brenda Lazano had been inside Carniceria San Jose store and had walked out of the store to the driver’s side of her parents van parked in front of the store. She then ran into the street going around the back of the van and was struck by an eastbound Buick driven by 48 year old Lori Svinarich. Lazona  was allegedly going around the back of the van to get into the passenger side of the van. The driver of Buick stated that she did not see the child until she was in the street right in front of her and was unable to avoid striking her. The condition of Lazano is still unknown. 

 

 

A 4 year old girl was taken to the hospital this afternoon after being hit by car. It happened on Winona Ave. in Warsaw around 2:15 pm in front of the Comcast store. After speaking with Warsaw Police, we learned that the girl allegedly ran into the street and that's when she was struck by the vehicle. She was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne to be treated for her injuries. We have not yet been told the condition of the girl.
