Update: One Hospitalized After Warsaw Fire



Warsaw Fire Department responded to a house fire at 1510 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw, at 11:29 a.m. Saturday. The fire started in the garage of the home and extended to the attic. Fire Chief Mike Brubaker said they rescued the only individual in the home, and the person was transported to a Fort Wayne hospital. Brubaker is unsure of the person’s current condition, and he had not released the name of the individual as of this morning. There were no injuries to any of the firefighters. Brubaker said the home looks like a total loss due to extensive damage, but the fire was extinguished fairly quickly. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. WFD was assisted by Multi-Township EMS, Winona Lake Fire Department and Leesburg Fire Department. Pierceton Fire and Claypool Fire were on stand-by.
