US 30 traffic stop leads to arrest for possession of drugs, ‘altered’ gun

PLYMOUTH — A Fort Wayne man was arrested in Marshall County early Monday morning on gun charges.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was conducting a traffic stop with a vehicle on U.S. 30 at 2:30 a.m. in the area of Oak Drive when guns and drugs were discovered, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Department.

The traffic stop was initiated for speeding.

During the investigation, a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, and suspected marijuana, along with numerous firearms, were found inside the vehicle.

A passenger in the vehicle, 21-year-old Sincier S. Hutchins of Fort Wayne, was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm as well as being in possession of a firearm that has been altered with a device commonly referred to as a “Glock
Switch.”

Hutchins was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked for Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Machine Gun Without a License, and Possession of Marijuana.

Hutchins was issued a $10,000 bond.
