Valley School Board To Consider New Hires Monday

AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley School Board will be introduced to several new employees at Monday’s meeting.

Those employees include coordinator Nicole Hines and lead instructor Jody Moss for the Valley Early Learning Academy.

In May, Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation announced it was opening a day care center for employees’ children for the 2022-23 school year called the Valley Early Learning Academy.  The Board will be asked to approve the hiring of Hines and Moss Monday.

Superintendent Blaine Conley on Thursday said  the school corporation is still looking at the hiring of an instructional assistant for the center.

The Board on Monday also will be asked to approve:

• Facility use contracts for Beaver Dam Preschool and Jack & Jill Preschool.

• A real estate lease with Kosciusko County Head Start/Cardinal Services.

• The Teacher Appreciation Grant policy.

Conley said it’s something the corporation does every year. It’s money the state legislature sets aside for teachers who are in the top 2% of the evaluation process.

• Approve the personnel mileage reimbursement and travel policies. Conley said the policies were outdated.
