Volunteers sought for Saturday’s ‘bed build’ at fairgrounds

News Release

WARSAW — Sleep in Heavenly Peace is seeking volunteers for its build event scheduled for Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds in Warsaw.

Local supporters established a local chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace in Kosciusko County earlier this year in an effort to provide newly constructed beds for families in need.

The event welcomes participants aged 12 years and up, with no prior building experience required.

Saturday’s event will take place at the Show Barn situated at the east end of fairgrounds.

SHP was able to construct about 90 beds in its first few weeks of operations this year.

The chapter has held several private build events in recent weeks, relying on non-profit groups and local companies, but Saturday’s event will rely on public participation.

This initiative signifies a crucial response to the pressing shortage of beds in the local area, according to a news release issued Thursday.

With an urgent demand for additional beds, SHP calls upon the community to join hands and make a tangible difference. Whether you’re a seasoned builder or never picked up a screwdriver, your participation is invaluable.
