Voter turnout, early voting high in Kosciusko County

Last night’s Midterm elections were historic in at least one regard: the turnout.

Andy Downs of the Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics tells the newsroom that turnout surpassed that of the 2014 midterms when there were still hours left to vote.

“We’re looking at pretty good turnout here for a midterm election. I saw a lot of lines myself when I was out and about, people told me about lines,” he explains.

Voter turnout exceeded 50 percent in Kosciusko County.

Over 4,700 residents voted early this election, compared to the 2014 midterms when just over 1,700 voted early.
