Matthew G. Wagoner, wanted locally on a warrant for six felony charges, was arrested Monday by U.S. Marshals in Allen County. The warrant for his arrest was issued Sept. 2. He faces multiple felony charges for his involvement in an accident that killed 39 year old Jeremy Valentine of Wynnewood, Pa. A preliminary investigation of the fatal July accident determined that 29 year old Wagoner of Milford was traveling northbound on Ind. 13 in North Webster, crossed the center line and struck a southbound vehicle driven by Valentine. Valentine was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma. A witness told police he observed Wagoner driving erratically before striking Valentine’s vehicle. Wagoner’s subsequent blood sample showed he had meth in his system at the time of the crash. Wagoner was arrested Monday and charged with one count of neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury; one count of causing death when operating a motor vehicle with a Schedule I or II controlled substance in the blood; three counts of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury; and one count of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person with a passenger less than 18 years of age. All are felony charges. He is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on a $250,000 surety only bond.
