Warsaw chess teams heading to state following successful regional

Chess teams from the Warsaw schools will be heading to state in March following a successful run in the regionals on Saturday. Warsaw was represented by Edgewood, Lakeview, Lincoln, Madison and Washington during the regionals.

In the 8th/under division, both Edgewood A, B and C teams will be advancing to State. Lakeview A team will also be advancing to State. In the 6th/under division, Lincoln A and B and Washington A and B teams will be advancing to State. The Lincoln Elementary A team was in the top three in the 6th/under division and was presented with a trophy to be showcased in their school.  All 3rd/under teams are permitted to go to the state tournament to compete.

The state tournament will be held on Saturday, March 21st at Morton High School in Hammond.
