Warsaw Community Schools will be unveiling their solar project at Eisenhower Elementary School.

But that’s just one of the buildings that’s being outfitted with solar panels– 5 other school buildings got them as well: Lakeview Middle School, Edgewood Middle School, Harrison Elementary, Madison Elementary and Leesburg Elementary.

The school district will be able to sell back any excess energy generated by the panels to NIPSCO, so the solar panels are bringing energy efficiency and cost savings.

“Warsaw Community Schools would like to thank NIPSCO for their strong commitment to our district,” says Warsaw Schools Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert. “We are very excited about the advancement in solar energy assisting to power our local school campuses.”

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held Tuesday to celebrate the district’s green initiative.
