Warsaw Friends Of The Library Hold Read-a-thon

Friends of the Library held a one-day read-a-thon at Warsaw Community Public Library Monday.

Library Director Ann Zydek told the Library Board Monday that members of the Friends of the Library set up near the circulation desk and ran the read-a-thon until 5 p.m.

During the read-a-thon, patrons were able to donate $5 to the Friends of the Library and hit a gong. Some patrons even made pledges to the Friends of the Library during the read-a-thon.

The money raised will go toward something that will benefit the library.

In other business, the Board:

• Approved Jack Laurie Group, Fort Wayne, as the library’s janitorial service.

• Learned the library closed at 2 p.m. June 23 and reopened June 27 due to staff shortages.

• Learned Stanley Steamer on June 26 cleaned the floors.

• Learned the library received a donation of flowers from the Master Gardners.
