According to the affidavit of probable cause provided by Kosciusko County officials, officers responded to a female wanting a subject removed from her residence Tuesday night. Officers met the woman at Walnut Creek Church, Warsaw, to discuss the incident.
The victim told police she and Brooks had been living together since December 2014. She said she and Brooks got into an argument Tuesday night when Brooks threw her down onto a bed and restricted her breathing by grabbing her around the neck.
According to the victim, Brooks told her that if she called the police she would be signing her own death warrant. The victim’s uncle witnessed the event and told police the same story. Police observed red marks on the neck and right arm of the victim.
Brooks admitted to police that the altercation turned physical and that he put his hands on his girlfriend.
