Warsaw Man Arrested For Knife Threat

A Warsaw man was arrested Wednesday after threatening another man with a knife. According to Warsaw Police Department Lt. Kip Shuter, officers were dispatched around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday to Central Park in Warsaw to respond to a report of a man confronting another man with a knife. Officers located the described subject, identified as Perry Peconga, 34, of 535 Clinic Court, Warsaw, at Bixler Park on North Detroit Street and detained him, finding a knife on his person.
The investigation found that the victim, a 31-year-old male, approached Peconga near the pavilion in Central Park and was upset because of an alleged relationship between Peconga and the victim’s girlfriend. The two argued and Peconga pulled out a folding, razor box-type knife and threatened the victim.
The victim then asked Peconga what he was going to do and after a few seconds, Peconga folded up the knife, returned it to his bag and walked away.
Peconga was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on a preliminary charge of intimidation and held on a $4,000 bond.
