Warsaw man sentenced to 248 months in prison

A Warsaw man has been sentenced for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and possession with intent to distribute heroin.

26-year-old Darin Hurd was given 248 months in prison followed by 6 years of supervised release.

A press release from U.S. Attorney Thomas Kirsch says Hurd used heroin with the mother of his child in September of 2017 and left behind approximately 7 grams of heroin.

That day, the mother of Hurd’s child passed away from a heroin overdose while home with their toddler son, who then tested positive for heroin metabolite.
