A Warsaw man was taken into custody early Monday morning following an overnight disturbance at a home on East Market Street.

Warsaw Police Detective Sergeant Brad Kellar says officers responded to the home at 615 East Market, where they found a man yelling out of the back of a house. The man, identified as 47-year old Aurelio Tamez, was said to kick another man out of the house after an argument.

Kellar said Tamez refused to comply with officers outside of the residence and a search warrant was obtained to enter the home. WPD’s Emergency Response Team was also activated and sent to the scene. Officers breached the home and took Tamez into custody without further incident.

Police also executed an additional search warrant after drug evidence was found inside of the home.

Tamez was taken to the Kosciusko County Jail where he has been booked for the active felony warrant, along with new charges of invasion of privacy and resisting law enforcement.

Information regarding the drug evidence was not immediately available and Kellar says that portion of the investigation is on going.
