WARSAW — The city of Warsaw’s Parks Department has canceled a slip-and-slide event on Wednesday because of excessive heat.
The parks department issued the following statement:
Due to the Extreme Heat Warning in effect, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tomorrow’s Slip-N-Slide event for the safety of our participants and staff.
While this is a water-related event, it still requires participants to spend time waiting in direct sunlight. With the dangerously high temperatures expected, we feel it is in everyone’s best interest to cancel the event.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming water events:
Wipe Out – Tuesday, July 7
Wipe Out – Saturday, July 25
Slip-N-Slide – Tuesday, August 4
We are hopeful these events can move forward as planned, but as always, the safety of our community will remain our top priority.
