Warsaw Student Made Honorary Police Officer

The City of Warsaw made a fourth-grader at Lincoln Elementary, Drake Price, an honorary police officer. Price watched the ceremony from his hospital bed at Riley Hospital for Children. Drake, who wants to be a cop, is being treated for benign brain tumor.

Warsaw Police Chief Scott Whitaker handed Drake’s mother, Charity Price, the certificate during a school assembly Friday. Whitaker said he wasn’t aware of Warsaw making someone a honory officer before and promised Drake a “hero’s welcome” when he returned to Warsaw.

Lincoln Elementary designed “Drake Strong” T-shirts to raise money for Drake and his family. Pay Pro Tech, a local payment processing company, bought shirts for every student and staff member at Lincoln.
