Warsaw student takes top spot at Microsoft competition, moves on to nationals

Warsaw Area Career Center and Warsaw Community High School are sending a student to a national competition.

Lucas Rhodes found success during the Microsoft Office Specialist State Championship Fall Qualifier. The senior at WCHS achieved first place in the statewide competition.

Rhodes prepared for the test during Scott Schramm’s digital applications class in the fall. According to Schramm, the class offers students the opportunity to take the Microsoft Office Specialist certification in Word 2016 through Certiport.

Students who take this certification are automatically entered into Certiport’s contest for the 2017 MOS US National Championships Fall Qualifier. As a result of his first-place finish at the state level, Rhodes has been invited to compete in the national level competition in Atlanta.
