WCHS announces new girls’ track and field coach

Warsaw Community High School has selected Matt Thacker as the new girls’ track and field coach.

Thacker will take over the position held by retired coach Scott Erba.

Thacker will continue to coach the boys track and field program while taking on the responsibility of serving as head coach for the Lady Tigers’.

“First of all, I would like to thank coach Scott Erba as he has been very influential in all aspects of Warsaw track and field. Coach Erba has done a terrific job and the hope is to continue a level of excellence that has been established within the girls’ track program,” states Thacker. “We are blessed with talented coaching staff on both the girls’ and boys’ teams, as well as our middle school and elementary programs. We look forward to the challenge of both teams competing for NLC, sectional, regional and state championships.”

Thacker has coached the Warsaw boys program for eight seasons. In those seasons, the Tigers have won the last six Northern Lakes Conference titles, captured six sectionals and the boys squad has won four of the past six regional contests.
