Whitko Schools staff members got a nice surprise during Teacher Appreciation Week this week.
The corporation is thanking their staff with a special $1,000 stipend in recognition of the extra work they put in during this school year because of the pandemic.
They also announced that all district administrators are waiving their own stipend in order to help add another $500 per classroom teacher for supplies and materials.
The school board will vote on the measure at their May 24th meeting, and the money should be the staff member’s checks in June.
