Will we see a White Christmas this year?

With Christmas looming just one week away from today, you may be asking yourself, will we see a White Christmas?

Historically, using data from both South Bend and Fort Wayne’s reporting stations, there is a 40-60 percent chance of having a White Christmas, which is defined as having at least one inch of measurable snow on the ground.

While the last few years have not produced any snow before or on Christmas Day, the chance is there for next week. The best chance may come Christmas Eve, when a strong push of cold air could usher in some of the white stuff. The chance for a chilly Christmas is likely, as high temperatures may only be in the teens with overnight lows in the single digits.
