Winter Storm Watch for Kosciusko County Thursday through Friday

UPDATE:

The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Kosciusko County from late Thursday night through Friday evening. The Service says heavy snow of 5 to 9 inches is possible, and could affect morning and afternoon commutes on Friday. ORIGINAL STORY (by Jon Zimney):

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 1 a.m. until 8 a.m. for St. Joseph, Elkhart, LaPorte, Kosciusko, Marshall and Starke Counties in Indiana, as well as Berrien, Cass and St. Joseph Counties in Michigan.

Snow will work its way into Michiana beginning late Tuesday evening lasting into Wednesday morning. Most will see a general 1 to 3 inches of snow, but those living closer to the lake shore could see 3 to 6 inches of snow.

From the National Weather Service of Northern Indiana:
“A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving. Snow chances remain in the forecast through the weekend with highs gradually warming up near 30 degrees.”

Next week is warmer and generally quieter.
