The Threads of Valor ceremony will be taking place this morning at Kosciusko Community Senior Services, inside of Pete Thorn Gym.

A group of ladies from the Liberty Sewing Circle knit together quilts for war veterans and present them twice a year, typically in May and November. This year, quilts are being presented to several veterans from World War II.

Kathy Snell, who is one of the founders of the group, says this presentation is being held early to commemorate the ending of the war, which took place on September 2nd, 1945 after the surrender of Japan in August.

Doors open at 10 AM with patriotic singing beginning at 10:30. The National Anthem will begin the presentation at 11:00, followed by six speakers and ending with the quilt presentation.

If you can’t make it to the ceremony, you can listen to a live broadcast on News Now Warsaw 99.7fm and 1480am beginning at 10:50.
