1 Dead 1 Injured In Syracuse Shooting, Police Still Searching For Suspect

Update: One person is dead and one is in critical condition after a double shooting in Syracuse this morning. According to police, two people were found in a home at 205 E. Main St. in Syracuse around 12:30 A.M. The first victim, Tara Thornburg was found on the main level in critical condition with a gun shot wound to the head. The second victim, a 19 year old man was found deceased on the upper level of the home. Police are currently looking  for 22-year-old Brandon Thomas Woody, who they suspect to be the shooter. Woody is believed to be armed and dangerous and has an extensive history of violence and arrests. Anyone with information on Woody is encouraged to call police immediately.

KCSD PRESS RELEASE- The Syracuse Police Department, along with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police, are currently investigating a double shooting that occurred within the Town of Syracuse this morning.  Syracuse officers responded to a call of a potential shooting at the location of 205 East Main Street, at approximately 12:31 a.m.  Police are currently attempting to locate Brandon Thomas Woody, 22, in regards to his involvement with the shooting. Initial information related to the investigation is ongoing. The Syracuse Police Department has currently scheduled a news conference at 7 a.m. today, inside the Syracuse Town Hall, 310 North Huntington Street, Syracuse.  Media will be located in the Town Council Chambers within the building.
