3 Injured, 1 Critically In Syracuse Crash

Update: KCSD Press Release- A head-on crash south of Syracuse today has injured three people, one of those critically. Officers and emergency personnel responded today at 2:44 p.m. to a 9-1-1 report of a head-on vehicular crash near the intersection of State Road 13 & Waco Drive. Responder arrived and located the driver of a 2006 Pontiac Gran Prix, identified as Peggy A. Page, 37, Pierceton, in critical condition. Her passenger, Shaun M. Church, 37, New Paris, was removed from the vehicle and transported to Goshen Hospital in serious condition with chest injuries. Page was extricated and subsequently transported from the scene by helicopter to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. The driver of the second vehicle involved, identified as James A. Brumbaugh, 66, Milford, was transported by Syracuse E.M.S. to Lutheran Hospital, with chest injuries and numerous lacerations. Kosciusko County F.A.C.T./investigation team members stated that a preliminary investigation of the crash determined that Page had crossed the centerline of State Road 13 near the intersection of Waco Drive for an unknown reason, striking Brumbaugh’s 2003 GMC Envoy. The Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. Team was assisted at the scene by the Syracuse Police Department, Syracuse/Turkey Creek Fire Department & E.M.S., and the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.
