WARSAW — The Magical Meadows topped its $100,000 goal Thursday with its rockathon fundraiser that is part of an effort to construct a dedicated riding arena for first responders.

More than $101,000 was raised by the therapeutic horse riding organization north of Waraw hopes to construct two arenas over the next few months.

Executive Director Michael Kuhn said they received a large amount of support even before the 12-hour event began and expressed appreciation for the support from the ten participants who pledged to continually rock in a chair for up to 12 hours and the community that rose to the occasion in its support.

“It means the world to us,” Kuhn said. “There are no words to be able to express our gratitude for what we really feel in our hearts.”

Thursday’s efforts put the overall funding plan beyond the half way point, Kuhn said.

If all goes well with continued fundraising, officials hope to break ground this fall and complete construction in the spring.
