WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools issued an alert Wednesday night about recent phishing attempts involving emails that appear to come from WCS staff members.

The alert was sent our at about 8 p.m. to parents and staff.

These fraudulent messages are designed to look legitimate and may include attachments, links or requests for information. In some cases, the sender’s name may be someone you recognize, but the message itself is not authentic.

WCS technology staff are actively monitoring and addressing these incidents. However, community awareness is an important layer of protection.

WCS encourages families and community members to take the following precautions:

  • Do not open attachments from emails you were not expecting, even if they appear to come from someone you know

  • Avoid clicking links in suspicious messages

  • Check the sender’s email address carefully as scammers often use addresses that look similar to real ones

  • Never share passwords or personal information through email

  • When in doubt, verify directly by contacting the staff member through a known phone number or official school contact method

If you believe you have received a suspicious email claiming to be from WCS:
