Improvements to railroad signals along the north/south track through Warsaw will begin soon.

Norfolk Southern will be replacing the signals at eight different crossings, the northernmost at Arthur Street and the southernmost at Pope Street. According to city officials, the project will take approximately 8 months to complete.  Work will begin at the southernmost crossings, moving north. Crossings should remain open at most times, with some intermittent lane restrictions and short-term closures.

INDOT will also be working with Norfolk Southern on the timing of traffic lights along Detroit Street to allow smooth traffic flow when a train is moving through. INDOT has not released plans at this time regarding their side of the work with this project.
