Minor injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash that closed down eastbound US 30 on Tuesday morning for several hours.

The crash happened at the intersection of US 30 and County Road 800 West, also known as the Nappanee Shortcut, near Hoffman Lake. A southbound van from 800 West was turning onto 30, when it pulled into the path of an eastbound semi-truck.

The front end of the van sustained serious damage, while the semi ended up on its side in the center median. The driver of the semi, 59-year old Jeffery Williams of Chicago, was taken to KCH with minor injuries, while the driver of the van, 18-year old Parker Conley of Granger, was checked by paramedics on scene.
